Al Hekma International School is proud to announce that it has been granted IB DP Candidate status by the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Organization. This designation signifies that AHIS has met the rigorous academic and organizational standards for candidacy and pursuing authorization as an IB DP World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students. Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its programs.
The IB DP is a highly respected two-year, Grades 11 and 12, pre-university program that is recognized by universities worldwide. The program is known for its rigorous curriculum, which challenges students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage in independent research. It encourages students across the world to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand international mindedness and respect diversity.

AHIS is currently working towards full authorization as an IB World School for the academic year 2024/2025 to start offering the program. This process involves a comprehensive evaluation of the school’s facilities, faculty, policies, curriculum, and practices.
